It’s rare these days that when 5:00 rolls around that I have actually wrapped up what I am working on. Usually even though the clock strikes 5, my mind is usually still working well into the night on whatever the latest and greatest design challenge is. It’s the thing I like the best and the least about the job. I have the flexibility to work when I need to and am not tied to any specific desk or tooling that I can’t otherwise access at home or on the go, but it also means the job is not done until I feel like I have reached some satisfactory stopping point. Honestly, I think there are others that can turn it on and off better than I can – I just have never mastered the art (appropriately labeled).

So anywho on this particularly rare afternoon, my mind was at peace with the proposed direction for the day and I snagged the kids and we headed to the sprayground (playground + sprinklers). Without school the kids get a little bored tied to the house all day so this was an extra special treat.

And even luckier, it was unsually empty, on this warm afternoon. The kids loved it.

On a side note, Cailee is now a pro at the monkey bars – it just finally clicked and she is able to fly across the bars, complete with the right swinging technique. I dare say that’s better than I ever managed.
