So this was Cailee’s first year participating in the local parades with her dance troop. She marched/danced in two, the Mebane parade (Friday night) and Hillsborough parade (Saturday morning). They were two completely different experiences – Mebane was warm, nearly 60 degrees but we had to wait FOREVER. We were told to arrive an hour before the parade and then didn’t join the parade until an hour after it started. Cailee was really restless but she did really well. Saturday morning was COOOLD, but lucky for us here dance group was at the start of the parade so we didn’t have to wait too long. I didn’t dress her warm enough and the poor girl was frozen and thus did her best to just get from start to finish – we didn’t get a whole lot of other movement out of her. Even still she said she a had a lot of fun and is looking forward to next year’s parades. It was a great start to the holiday season.
