We had a great Christmas (more on that later) and are now enjoying the unseasonably warm weather that has graced us with it’s presence this weekend. It’s not supposed to last too long (might be some snow this week), but it was a good chance for the kids to get acquainted with their new bikes that Santa, ala Bicycle Chain, brought.
It’s Connor’s first real bike and he did really good. The pesky footbrake got in his way a bit but he’s working past that. It honestly didn’t take him long at all to get the hang of it, it was definitely a proud Mommy (and I am sure, Daddy) moment (as if that’s not evidenced by the number of pictures I took). I have a feeling this kid will be whizzing around, sans training wheels, before we know it. Of course Cailee rocked the new pink bike. She doesn’t know it yet, but Daddy plans to take away the training wheels real soon. That will be an interesting experience, I have no doubt (kinda like me trying to learn how to drive stick shift – which I still can’t do). Connor definitely has that competitive spirit – we had stopped biking until he saw another little boy biking and he just had to get on his two wheels, pedal real hard til he caught up and said “I’m winning!” Uh oh. I have no idea where he got that from.
Cailee is still my little monkey – she loves her some monkey bars. She proudly declared she broke her own record of three times across in a row.
