A little over a year after JJ had open heart surgery, he ran the Cooper River Bridge 10K in Charleston with impressive results. I actually think the real challenge was not him finishing the race, but sitting for quite some time in rush hour traffic Friday afternoon in Charleston to inch a few tenths of a mile, or waiting to pick up the race packet in a line that wrapped the expo (note to self: remember to register in time to get the packet in the mail next year), or what I foresaw to be the most stressful of circumstances – finding JJ in the sea of 40,000 participants and their friends, family and random bystanders. But thankfully, as luck would have it – that didn’t didn’t prove to be too difficult.

All in all, we couldn’t have asked for a better weekend, weather was good, Cailee tolerated the carseat and stroller, which she was in the majority of the time and we definitely welcomed the change of scenery.

Here are some of our favorite pictures.
