My swimming champ

And when it’s not been rainy this summer, we’ve spent as much time outside (which never seems to be enough). This is definitely the summer of swinging, scotters and swimming pools.

In particular, I was really proud of Cailee at the swimming pool. We were on a playdate with McKinley and Cailee wanted to jump off the diving board at the pool. However, pool rules stipulated that to jump off the diving board you had to first swim the length of the pool and back without stopping or touching the pool floor. Cailee hadn’t ever gone more than a few yards at a time, we haven’t mastered the art of breathing while swimming. And the first few times we tried we didn’t even get close, but she was determined and just before we were about to leave she stubbornly mastered the test. She was so thrilled and enjoyed her few ever jumps off the diving board.
