I knew that the spa party wouldn’t accommodate everyone who loved Cailee and wanted to celebrate her birthday with her so we planned party #2. I also relented control here completely to chuck-e-cheese (even more so than the spa party). Here we had GG + GDaddy Herrman, GG + GDaddy Dewar, The Byerly’s, The Braxtons, and our family, although I think we had enough pizza to feed twice that crowd. The hardest part was just keeping up with everyone – they ran all over the joint trying to collect as many tickets as they could. I’ll admit – Chuck e cheese puts on a better party then I expected – the kids got to go in the ticket booth, grab candy and tickets from a pinata and our birthday girl was given 1000 extra tickets just for being the pizza princess (ok, I made that title up but they did give her a crown and cape so its fitting).
As an aside, we did have quite the fiasco with getting balloons for this party. Cailee and I ran to the party store just before the festivities kicked off assuming it would be an in-and-out deal. Instead, we waited quite some time, and when it was our time, the party store blow up one balloon, we raced outside to leave only to find it was leaking air (Cailee actually spotted it). They tried several more of the same batch of balloons and they were all leaking. Finally we got one to work, but all this made us a tad late to our own party. This experience must have stuck with Cailee because she later wrote a story about it at school and that made the principal’s board and had been on display at the front of the school for all to see. (see, you put all this attention into these parties and its the leaky balloons that leave a lasting impression)
