Wednesday morning means annual fishing tournament. Another thing I really feared doing by myself. At least this time, the weather was good and we even made the early sessions. It started off a little tense, with lines getting caught, and getting glares for casting over my head and almost striking the passerbys. But we had a very patient mother, with a lot of fishing experience, beside us that was a lifesaver. With two kids, I hadn’t counted on what to do when one kid caught a fish and the other needed help in the water. But we managed, it was a lot of running back and forth but somewhow the kids managed to each catch two fish. Cailee got a 7″ and 8.5″ fish and Connor got a 10.5″ fish and a 5″ baby right at the buzzer. How’s that for even steven, neither were winners but Connor got real close and they both totaled caught a total of 15.5″. Mom survived and the kids had ice cream for breakfast (another tradition). We spent another afternoon at the pool, participated in pool games (although they were outside of the pool which was interesting and not quite as entertaining) but the kids made up with their fair share of pool games. Take note: those noodles are the bomb. We saw them at our pool back home, got them as a treat for the beach trip and LOVED them. They are the best for floating, jumping on, swimming – pretty much everything.
