It’s hard to believe the week is almost over. Today we headed to Charleston to do the Fort Sumter tour. We stayed dry on the boat ride there, but the bottom fell out minutes after arriving at the Fort. So here we were, captive in a fort had long since lost its roof and had a gift store the size of a large closet (much too small for the hundreds on the tour boat). Needless to say, we got a little wet while learning our history lesson for the week. Later that afternoon we walked around the battery, ate a good dinner (the kids impressed us with their manners at a slightly upscale Charleston restaurant) and capped off the evening with a stop at the candy store by the cotton exchange (because hyping kids up on sugar before bed is a good idea).
