It was our last day at Seabrook (boo :(). We decided that we wanted to leave early from the house and head into Charleston before hitting the road back home. We had promised Connor a visit to the aquarium before the week was out. As one last hurrah, we found the flamingo Stacy had promised the kids could use (in lieu of the big duck they missed this year). So while I packed up the car, they fought over who got to ride in the flamingo, enjoying one last dip in the pool. Our plan was then to go to Charleston, visit the aquarium and then get some food in downtown before heading out. However, after we’d finished our tour of the aquarium, the weather looked very scary, so the idea of getting caught in a downpour in downtown squelched those plans. Instead we thought we’d head out of town a bit and then stop for a late lunch. It sounded good, but funny thing was , when we finally did stop, one, it had to be the busiest exit ever and two, remember that storm we were fleeing? Well it caught up with us and it dropped buckets of water while we were eating, making the traffic even worse. So definitely not what we planned but once we finally drove out of that craziness, it was sunshiny and traffic-free the rest of the way home.
