And its not why you would think. Its not because of the baby, even though enough of you have asked that very question… But since the baby will be the cause of many sleepless nights in the future, I will spare her the blame just this once.

I mean the reality can’t be ignored – the baby can’t possibly have any room left in ‘da belly, but yet she still keeps wiggling around and for whatever reason still insists that its safer in than out – and just watching the hour glass slowly waning down to the final hour (which I think at this point there are 12 hours, 2 minutes – but who’s counting) makes time pass even slower, but I could actually call this time relaxing if it were not for the following plaques…

So here’s the saga – About a week ago the cold hit – it was a scratchy throat at first and I thought, surely – my super human pregnant immune system won’t let this turn into anything else – and how wrong was I – I got it all – runny nose, stuffiness, coughing, sore throat – you name it. Well phew I think the worst is past – because the thought of delivering under those conditions was a little nerve-wracking – so even I was hoping the baby would hold off a few days.

And then as if that wasn’t enough – just when I thought I was out of the woods – apparently I spent a few minutes back in the woods long enough to get attacked by the the most vengeful bunch of bugs ever. It couldn’t have been just one – because the trail of connect the dots on my back, legs, buttocks, arms and other unmentionables is just way too impressive for just a single felon. My pride won’t allow me to post a picture so just use your imagination.

Maybe this is God’s way of preparing me for the challenges of motherhood – but really all I want is to have a few uneventful days without the sneezing, scratching, but lots of snoozing.
