It’s hard to believe we made it to the big day, John and Courtney’s wedding, through it and we are all still standing on the other side.
The weather was everything you could hope for, a typical crispy fall day with hardly a cloud in sight. This is significant because every weekend leading up to this day had been rainy and the rest of the month proved just as dreary. But not for this day, someone was looking down on us for sure.
This day was definitely a labor of love with contributions from many people, but that just shows you how many people care about this couple.
I was taking pictures, which I love to do, however as you are well aware, my comfort zone maxxes out at around 20ish kids so photographing this 150 person wedding was ever so intimidating.
In retrospect, there are things I would do differently, angles I would have switched up, lens I would have changed out, backdrops I second guess, but my goal was simply to capture the day as it was and hopefully how everyone experienced it and wants to remember it. At times it was no doubt, chaotic and messy, at other times downright silly and giddy and it was definitely emotional, but above all it was absolutely genuine, and heartfelt, and real.
I was proud to be a part of it and proud to call these guys family. XOXO
