Cailee had her first dance competition this past weekend in Rocky Mount. I am not allowed (I don’t think, the rules are always different) to take pictures or video of the performance so I just get before, after and all the down time in between. I’ve realized after looking back thorugh all the images that the majority are the back of Cailee’s head – I’ll have to work on that – I mean, I am very proud of my fake bun (as seen on TV), but you can’t tell that Cailee was really nervous before hand, and quite excited when it was all over. You’re missing all the emotion of the day.
I’ve seen these routines go from bad to worse, but the girls actually really pulled it together and danced their 5-6 year old hearts out. It was so fun to watch them on stage, but it always makes me a little weepy. Any time spent not dancing spent on the ipad – thank goodness we have it or Cailee would be one bored girlie – or so she thinks.
