While Cailee still doesn’t quite get all the hype (and for this, I am grateful), she definitely got into the swing of things with no problem. Christmas eve we spent with GG, GDaddy and Uncle Dave in Greensboro. GDaddy braved Cailee alone for two hours while we enjoyed the Moravian Love Feast – a family tradition we’ve been a little nervous to do in the past few years. Cailee’s favorite activity was definitely the electric train my parents had – although it might not every be the same again.

After a late night Christmas eve and too much sugar – which made for an upset stomach sometime around 330 am – Cailee was up at the crack of noon – no joke – she slept until nearly 11:30 am. I know that won’t last in years to come, so JJ and I savored the quiet time.

Once we enticed her to open a few gifts – she really got into it – her favorite statement was – “ohhh, I love it” – it was just so sweet. Cailee got bath toys (dora and hippos for the tub) and lots of musical instruments, books, playdoh and more. JJ got his wish as well with a new mountain bike – it enjoyed a few hours in the living room – until it was used outside – now its stored safely in the garage.

Christmas afternoon we visited the other half of the fam in Hillsborough. While a nap was definitely in order, Cailee had a lot of fun playing with Cousin ‘Kinley.
