So there are some advantages of having to travel for work – well maybe just one – and that’s when I am able to turn a business trip into a mini vacay for JJ and I. So I had to be in Orlando for a conference, so JJ and I headed down a few days early, hung out with Mickey at DisneyWorld first and then Harry Potter at Universal before he went back home and I attended the Conference.

It was pretty fun being at Disney, sans kids. JJ posted to Facebook and realized that his cousin Katie was on her way. What are the chances? We were having dinner at the Wilderness Lodge at exactly the same time her and John and the kids arrived. We ended the evening by catching up over some drinks. It was good for them to reminisce. Years ago, the two of them had grown up going to Disney so it turned out to be a walk down memory lane.

The next day we went to Universal. Lucky for us (or not), it was Harry Potter weekend. I’ve never seen so many cloaks, ties, and wands. I felt seriously out of the loop. People are serious about Harry Potter.

JJ and paid for front of the line passes – It turns out that is a blessing and a curse – at first – we zipped through the otherwise long lines and that was great. However, after one 4d ride after another, we couldn’t stomach it anymore. It was rough.

Regardless, we had a blast being a couple of big kids for a few days. Hope we get to do it again soon.
