My little prince and princess looked forward to Audrey’s fifth birthday party all week.  And then loved every minute of it.  There was a ton of sugary treats, a bouncy house, and princesses galore  – what’s not to love?    I do have a disclaimer you must read before viewing the photos – I decided to get Connor’s very long hair cut – because it was just too shaggy.  Deciding to do this at the last minute, my only choice was Sports Clips.  I should have been alarmed when the hair cut took 45 minutes and our Miss Tiffani can cut Connor’s hair in 10 minutes max – but hair cuts are one of those irreversible things.  I think she was new, she had to ask for help at one point (on a three year old?).  And the real challenge she was having was trying to style his hair.  She blow dried it and that poofed it up in the back (we joke that he has my hair – this time, he really did).  Realizing he no longer looked like a boy, she tried everything (more cutting/gel/wetting and re-drying), unsuccessfully, to make it lay flat.  I was mortified, but Connor is Connor and he’s cute no matter what and after some bouncy and playing it just looked like a hot mess, not dissimilar to a bed head and I tried to get over it.   Thankfully a good wash, brought it mostly back to where it should be – although she chopped it up pretty good so I’m curious to see how this might grow out and wonder if I’ll be reliving this decision this for some time to coming.

But back to the party – I think we were the first ones there and the last to leave – Cailee even declared she was not leaving at one point.  That’s how good of a party Melanie throws (and she makes all her own treats – unlike me who just buys them all – I know who I am hiring next time).    And she managed it all while planning for a surprise trip (Isabella and Audrey found out at the party) to Disney today.

By they way, the shoes in the car (in the picture below) – that was Connor’s doing.  While everyone was jumping in the bouncy house, he stole their shoes and packed up their shoes in the car (mine included).  I’m not sure, does that say something about my kid?

Another funny story. Connor ate a lot of sugar at the party and even more in the car on the way home.  So we warned him – don’t eat any more candy or you’ll get sick.  He persisted and managed to get open some candy we had refused to open.  He popped it in his mouth and said “See Mommy, I didn’t get sick”.  I guess he got me.

PS.  I am super impressed that Melanie even went as far as dressing up like Rapunzel.  Melanie, I should also tell you that JJ did agree to dress up like Olaf at Cailee’s party, I suppose I should have held him to it.  Maybe next time.

PPS. I took a lot of pictures.  Here are the rest.
