It was another good time in the mountains with the Hamletts. We got there a little early and spent the day in Blowing Rock. It was rainy so we decided to go to the leaning house museum. It looks kinda cheesy, but it’s right on the main stretch and we pass it every time we are there. So we figured, why not? It turned out to be pretty odd and interesting. There was really just one room that was truly slanted but something was definitely going on in that room. Gravity was working against you. Then they had other activities – the kids enjoyed the giant bubbles that you could wrap around your entire body the most.

The rest of the time, the Hamlett’s were the perfect hosts. Melanie prepared great food. The boys road mountain bikes, and the kids enjoyed climbing a dirt mountain. I did try to run but the drive in and out of the house is literally a hill STRAIGHT UP, so it became more of a brisk walk. The mountain air sure does feel good though. We went to Tweetsie again, the kids really wouldn’t have it any other way. We did the gem mining this time and the kids really enjoyed that. Cailee and Isabella did all the daredevil rides – Connor would like to but he still has a few inches to go. Thankfully Eddie and Melanie took a few for the team riding the dizzy rides with the girls while Connor and JJ hit up the train a few more times. The highlight of the weekend though had to be the Hamlett’s new puppy Chauncy. The kids loves him (almost to a fault) but I can imagine how hard it was for them to not want to cuddle the little furball.
