In true Dewar form, we decided at the very last minute to plan a trip to Williamsburg, VA for Memorial Day 2015. We lucked out (or God was with us, is more like it) with a great hotel within walking distance from Colonial Williamsburg, a fun sprayground, heated pool and just 10 minutes from Busch Gardens.
We spent the first half day at Colonial Williamsburg and I don’t think we even scratched the surface, we’ll definitely have to go back. We cooled off in the pool that evening. Day two, we tackled Busch Gardens. Here I thought we were get there around 10 and be zonked by 2 or 3. No, not even close – we basically opened and closed the place. We did every ride that the kids could do (which was quite a few), some we even did twice. They loved it – would have liked to have ridden more of the rides. My favorite was the log flume ride because we could all do it together and it was a thrill for everyone.
We drove back late that night – JJ was a champ, I was dozing and he got us safely home.
Busch Gardens!
