Kinda spur of the moment we decided to go to the zoo today. We got there and I thought I had it all figured out – as in – which side to start in so we ended at the car and hit the water area last – well turns out I got it all backwards, so we were right at the water/mud play area first (oh well, wet clothes can dry). But we made it through the zoo hitting nearly everything. And for some reason, even though it was pretty hot and sticky, we saw a lot of animals up close. Generally, they are off hiding in the shade somewhere but they were out today. I think this might have been the first time I actually saw a polar bear at the exhibit.
Turns out, though, Connor is a little nervous of some of the larger animals. He’s got a healthy fear of the bears, gorillas if he’s not looking at them through a glass window. He was definitely not thrilled that Cailee liked to taunt him by calling the animals to her – he actually thought this might work and didn’t like the prospects. Such is the life of living with our kids, it’s a love/hate relationship for sure.
