Pool Party

So even though school has started and we haven’t made it back to our pool, we definitely enjoyed Carrington’s 6th birthday/pool party. It was sunny and warm and we had the pool completely to ourselves (or else we successfully ran off anyone else who was there). We brought all our pool toys and so we introduced an otherwise calm gathering to water guns (sorry). It turned into a game of boys vs. girls most of the time, I guess it’s the age. I realized the guns might have been a mistake, however, when the boys were trying to instigate a wasps’ nest they happended upon by shooting it. Again, clearly a boys vs. girls thing that us females could not understand the enthusiasm behind that activity. But besides the fact that we poluted an otherwise innocent party, the kids had a blast hanging out with some of their besties. Birthday parties definitely top the list of favorite things in this house.
