We spent Labor day weekend with the Hamletts again this weekend. We always appreciate their hospitality. Everything was great! The weather was ideal – a little brisk, but warm in the sun. The boys (yes, Connor too) enjoyed plenty of mountain biking and the girls talked decorating, fashion and food (what else?). We enjoyed a fun afternoon in downtown West Jefferson, a night in Boone and lots of time just relaxign and catching up. It’s crazy to see how the kids have grown through the years, yet even after not seeing each other too often they always pick up right where they left off. This year Connor and Audrey went mountain biking with the dads and Cailee and Isabella spent a lot of time on the tumble track practicing their gymnastics. Cailee enjoyed spotting Isabella on her tricks and Cailee perfected her back tuck. I went for a run on the Blue Ridge Parkway – that was definitely a first. It was beautiful and I felt better than I anticipated even though it was constant ups and downs. The view was beautiful although I couldn’t help but keep a watchful eye out for bears – I couldn’t get over the feeling that something was gonna jump out of the woods at me. As you can see, that didn’t happen 🙂
