Proof!

If you didn’t believe me that Cailee was always on the go – I can prove it. This is one afternoon at the Children’s Museum in Raleigh. And I couldn’t snap a single picture that wasn’t in motion or blurry, and realized that its doesn’t only make a statement to my amateur photography skills, but…

The golden egg

JJ and I took Cailee to her first Easter Egg Hunt. Tracy and Rob had told us about it – it was presented by the Durham Parks and Rec at the Eno River Park and it was much better than I anticipated. I had these visions of Cailee getting pummelled by the 12 year olds…

So much for child-proofing

What good is child-proofing when your child can circumvent all your efforts? Cailee has moved on past the giant duck tub (sniff) and is taking over the entire tub – so I thought – smooth hard tub could be kinda dangerous for an active child. So I purchased these tub adhesives shaped as whales (that’s…

Mu-wah kisses

Cailee is giving cute, very wet kisses these days. I noticed last night that she is now mimiking JJ when he says mu-wah. So she gives a kiss and says mu-wah. I guess I need to get it on video for you all to get the full effect. Even still – its really great.

Cailee’s first (well kinda) trip to Gymboree

Since Cailee is such an active child (apparently my genes are to thank), I thought it might be a good idea to get her involved in some organized activities, because honestly, besides running her up and down the stairs, I don’t know how to keep her busy enough. So I checked out the local gymnastics…

Sliding…

Just chillin’

While the sunglasses are still not her favorite accessory, Cailee will tolerate them for at least a few minutes. I will tell you her favorite pasttime these days is Dora. I swore my child wouldn’t latch onto Dora and yet the reality is just that – I wish I could figure out the allure of…

The lost month

So there are really no excuses for the lapse except that life took over – which seems to be the most common topic of this blog. It just felt that the longer it had been the harder it was to come back – so this is a big step. Maybe it was just overwhelming, I…

We’ll miss you Brad!

While the completion of the room was the highlight of the month, I have to mention the the heartbreak of the year. The Dewar family lost a dear member. Brad Roberts died on March 2, 2010. And he’ll be forever missed as a brother, son and dear friend to Dewars. http://www.heraldsun.com/view/full_story_news_durham/6562300/article-Durham-firefighting-fraternity-to-send-off-fallen-brother-Brad-Roberts-sadly–fondly?instance=main_article

The room!

I should have posted these pictures all along, the last few weeks we made tremendous progress. It seems that as soon as the framing and flooring was done, it all came together. We decided to put in the window on a weekend that called for snow. Fun – eh! Luckily, true to Carolina’s form, it…
